Webinar Description:
Attendees will learn about the
systematic process that Scott uses to gather information about a tree when asked to diagnose various
possible issues. He will discuss how to determine the important questions to ask that will help you
understand the site history. Scott will demonstrate the general process he follows when performing a detailed
visual assessment, starting at the tree-soil interface and working our way up. Review of visual tree
assessment methods will be included. He will discuss the importance of considering tree health and
structural condition as two separate issues, while also being able to understand how they affect each
other. This will be an interactive session where attendees are encouraged to participate in discussion
and ask questions.
Speaker Bio:
Scott D. Baker is a Registered Consulting Arborist with 45 years’ experience in arboriculture. A successful
developer of urban historic building renovations and a residential community, Scott utilizes knowledge
of site management issues, building codes, and construction. educator in tree diagnostics, trees and
construction, and urban forest issues. As the founder, and principal consulting arborist with Tree
Solutions Inc. in Seattle, Washington, Tree Solutions provides consulting services to private, municipal,
and corporate clients.
