Program Description: This full day training seminar is designed to strengthen foundational arboriculture knowledge while reinforcing essential safety practices for every stage of the job. The training will be delivered bilingually (English and Spanish) to ensure accessibility for all participants.
The morning session will take place indoors and will focus on core instruction, providing participants with the biological, technical, and safety principles needed for effective and responsible tree care.
In the afternoon, attendees will rotate through three learning stations, each led by experienced instructors.
Descripción del Programa: Este seminario de capacitación de día completo está diseñado para fortalecer los conocimientos fundamentales de la arboricultura mientras refuerza las prácticas esenciales de seguridad en cada etapa del trabajo. La capacitación se impartirá de manera bilingüe (inglés y español) para garantizar accesibilidad para todos los participantes.
La sesión de la mañana se llevará a cabo en interiores y se enfocará en instrucción básica, proporcionando a los participantes los principios biológicos, técnicos y de seguridad necesarios para un cuidado de árboles eficaz y responsable.

Speakers
Julio Jacobo is an Agronomy Engineer, ISA Certified Arborist, Tree Risk Assessor, Urban Forest Professional, and Certified Water Manager. His experience includes tree assessment with West Coast Arborists across Southern California and serving as Park Inspector/Park Arborist for the City of Santa Ana. He is currently the Landscape Supervisor and City Arborist for the City of Fullerton, specializing in tree maintenance operations and urban forest management”.
Doug Wright is a certified Arborist, Certified Tree Climber, lead evaluator for ISA Certified Tree Climber Southern California, with over thirty years in the industry volunteering to educate up and coming, as well as seasoned workers of the tree industry. Spending the majority of my career at Bishop Company and now working at Cal-line equipment,
Gulliver Erickson A "lifer" of the arboriculture world, working hard at saving trees, and helping the next generation of arborists get ready to take it all over. ISA Certified Arborist (TRAQ & PPQ), CTSP, evaluator for ISA Certified Tree Climber Southern California, and a struggling business owner that smiles when I get out of bed every morning...
Cristian Garcia Arcos is a passionate advocate for trees, community, and environmental justice. He is Co-Chair of Arboleros and Commissioner for Parks and Community Services (PACS) in Costa Mesa. In this role, he advocates for the preservation of green spaces, equitable access to parks, and initiatives that promote both community engagement and tree conservation. He is also involved in the Hispanic Arborist Association, is an active participant with the Creek Team OC, which fights to ban herbicide use in Orange County and throughout the state of California, and is the co-founder of Bright Youth, a grassroots youth organization focused on amplifying creativity, culture, and community.
Fred Frey Fred is the owner of Vintage Tree Care in Santa Rosa, Ca. With over 30 years of on the job, with experience in both municipal and private tree care, Fred brings the perspective of a daily tree climber, as well as a tree service owner, whose responsibility is caring for the entire staff and it’s safety. Fred’s mission is to inform and empower those who care for trees to take safety seriously and help each of us return home to our families each day.
Oscar Ventura With over 10 years of on the job experience with Vintage Tree Care in Santa Rosa, California, Oscar brings a powerful and motivating perspective to the importance of managing the safety on each job site. Oscar is currently the crew safety leader, creating, conducting and overseeing the safety practices of the field staff at Vintage Tree Care. Oscar‘s passion is infectious and possesses an engaging style of information delivery.
