MFI is the premier leadership training for people in the urban forestry profession. The Institute offers an exciting training opportunity that guides professionals in the leadership and managerial aspects of urban forestry. Attendees will master leadership and management tools of program administration, coalition building, strategic thinking, program planning, and public relations through this investment in their personal growth and development. SMA and its Municipal Forestry Institute stand ready to support urban foresters through leadership development that will ensure they are able to take their forestry program to the next level.
MFI will be held February 25 through March 1, 2024, on Jekyll Island in Georgia. This state park on the Atlantic Ocean will offer the perfect setting to step away and focus on professional growth. At MFI, attendees will learn from experts in the field of urban forestry on what it takes to lead all while forming deep connections with peers.
